Beef steak on the Silex multi-grill

Ingredients (for 2 servings)

  • 2 beef steaks (ribeye, rump steak or fillet, approx. 200–250 g each, 2–3 cm thick)

  • 2 tbsp olive oil

  • Salt & freshly ground black pepper

  • 1–2 sprigs of rosemary or thyme (optional)

  • 2 cloves of garlic, crushed (optional)

  • Butter for finishing (optional)

Side dish ideas

  • Grilled vegetables (peppers, zucchini, mushrooms)

  • Baked potatoes or sweet potato chips

  • Fresh salad or herb butter

1. Prepare the steak

  1. Take steaks out of the refrigerator at least 30 minutes before grilling so that they reach room temperature.

  2. Rub with olive oil .

  3. Generously sprinkle salt and pepper on both sides.

  4. Optional: Lightly crush garlic and fresh herbs to transfer flavors.

2. Prepare the Silex Multigrill

  • Preheat the grill to a high temperature (approx. 220–250 °C).

  • Turn on top and bottom heat (contact grill function).

  • Optional: Lightly brush the grill plates with oil, if necessary.

3. Grill the steak

  • Place the steak on the grill plate and close the lid .

  • Cooking times (approx., depending on thickness & desired degree of doneness):

    • Rare / Bloody: 2–3 minutes per side

    • Medium Rare / Pink: 3–4 minutes per side

    • Medium / light pink: 4–5 minutes per side

    • Well done: 6–7 minutes per side

  • Optional: 1 minute before the end of the cooking time, add butter and herbs to the steak and briefly close the lid to allow the aromas to penetrate.

4. Let the steak rest.

  • After grilling, place the steaks on a plate and let them rest for 5 minutes so that the meat juices can redistribute.

5. Serve

  • Slice or serve whole.

  • Serve with grilled vegetables, potatoes or salad.

  • Optional: Refine with herb butter or lemon juice.


Tips for Silex Multigrill

  • Closing the lid ensures even heat and short grilling times.

  • Do not move steaks until they have formed a nice crust.

  • For extra flavor: Lightly rub the meat with olive oil and garlic beforehand .

  • If thicker steaks are still too raw inside, let them rest in aluminum foil for 2-3 minutes after contact grilling.
