🧼 Cleaning instructions – Silex Multigrill
This guide describes the proper cleaning of the Silex Multigrill model 610.15.004 and its accompanying casserole dish. Please observe the following instructions to avoid damaging the appliance and its coating.
⚠️ General Information
-
Always disconnect the device from the power supply and allow it to cool down before starting the cleaning process.
-
Do not use aggressive cleaning agents (e.g. oven cleaner, scouring cream, chlorine products).
-
Do not use any pointed or sharp objects (e.g. knives, metal brushes).
-
The appliance and grill plates must not be immersed in water .
🔹 Cleaning the grill plates (permanently installed)
The grill surfaces are non-stick coated (PFOA-free). Here's how to clean them properly:
1. Remove coarse residue
-
Remove food residue with a soft cloth or silicone/wooden spatula .
-
Do not use hard tools .
2. Damp cleaning
-
The plates are easiest to clean when they are still slightly warm (not hot).
-
Wipe with a damp microfiber cloth or a soft cotton cloth .
-
Alternatively: briefly place a wet cloth on the plate , then wipe it off (steam loosens stuck-on residue).
3. In case of heavier soiling
-
Use a cloth with lukewarm water and a little dish soap .
-
For encrusted items: Place baking paper on top , turn the appliance on to a low setting, wait a few minutes, then loosen with a wooden spatula.
4. Follow-up treatment
-
Wipe with a clean, damp cloth.
-
Then allow to dry thoroughly .
-
Do not store the grill with the lid closed if it is still damp inside (risk of mold).
🔹 Cleaning the saucepan (removable)
The casserole dish is usually made of cast aluminum with a non-stick coating.
1. Let it cool down
-
Do not expose to water immediately after use (risk of deformation).
2. Hand washing recommended
-
Cleaning with lukewarm water, dish soap and a soft sponge or cloth .
-
Do not use scouring pads or abrasive cleaning agents.
-
Even though it is theoretically dishwasher safe: hand washing is much gentler on the coating .
3. Drying
-
Wipe with a dry cloth or allow to air dry.
-
Do not store in damp cupboards.
❌ Not allowed:
-
Do not pour water directly into the device.
-
No metal objects or abrasives
-
Do not clean while hot.
-
No harsh cleaning agents
-
Do not clean with hard brushes or sponges.
✅ Recommendation:
For daily cleaning, a damp cloth and a little dish soap (not harsh detergent) are usually sufficient. Regular cleaning protects the surface, improves the appliance's lifespan, and ensures hygienic operation.
